Its a real SuNdAy

Posted by Venky on Mar 2, 2009 in Personal

Yeah it is. After a hectic and rigorous training in my company for about 4 months, I got a week end to enjoy. But then I had to sleep for a complete Saturday to get rid of all my pains I gained for 4 months.

My great Sunday started with enthu and I got along with 3 of my friends and enjoyed whole lot of facilities in my campus. We started with billiards and played till lunch and had a great lunch in our food courts. Then we took cube again and played for another hour.

We went to buy a swim suit as we prepared to get into the pool and jumped in to water. We played inside water for 2 hours and went for snow bowling. We did enjoy the game for another hour and we got tired of playing after a long time. :)

When I went to bed that night, I realized that I became a professional and entered into the life where I just get going and not LIVING.

Obama. Is his change positive or negative?

Posted by Venky on Nov 7, 2008 in News and politics

Obama, A new president of America from next January 20.

Its really good to hear a black African becoming an American president.I don’t know much about his history and I neither mind about that. But I do consider about his policies and goals that he preached during his public campaigns. As an Indian I worried about the outsourcing policy that he is dreaming to implement upon.

When he sits in his seat, he is going to sign for filtering the outsourcing projects outside America. This brings Indian software companies down.

lets hope the best will get back to us.

Welcome Mr. Obama.

Analog Computers!! Powered by Memresistor.

Posted by Venky on Oct 30, 2008 in Computers, News, Science and Technology

I studied in electronics about Resistors, Capacitors and Indictors. But these are the key components of electronics. But then in 1971, Berkley researcher Leon Chua theorized the possibility of a fourth type of component named Memristor. Recently, Hewlett-Packard successfully built one. Congrats HP.

What am I talking about?

The memristor can “remember” how much current has passed through it. And by alternating the amount of current that passes through it, a memristor can also become a one-element circuit component with unique properties. Most notably, it can save its electronic state even when the current is turned off, making it a great candidate to replace today’s flash memory.

The memristor could spawn a whole new type of computer, thanks to its ability to remember a range of electrical states rather than the simplistic “on” and “off” states that today’s digital processors recognize.

So, if memristor can operate beyond ‘1’s and ‘0’s, then I have a doubt about the digital scenario that we are living in. Then the computers can operate in analog mode!!!! Sounds interesting?
